One In An ARMY is extremely proud to announce the results of our first birthday campaign, Dream With Jungkook, benefiting Korean Kids and Orphanage Outreach Mission (KKOOM) in honour of Jungkook's birthday!
Back in June 2018, the OIAA team started tossing around the idea of incorporating the members' birthdays into our monthly campaigns. The only problem: September and December both celebrate two members' birthdays. In a poll voted on by ARMY, it was decided that each member would have a full month for their birthday campaign, meaning we kicked off the celebrations for our Golden Maknae in August 2018. We chose KKOOM (꿈 = dream) to support Korean orphanages in honour of Kookie's gratitude for being brought up with so much love by his BTS hyungs.
With our Dream With Jungkook campaign, ARMY raised $3,840.00 for KKOOM kids from 278 donors in 40 different countries, and 22 states in the USA!
These funds will be used to provide 3 semesters of college EACH to 2 of KKOOM's scholars, Se-Hee who is studying Hotel Tourism, and Yonghoon who is studying Social Welfare; aka ARMY just funded college scholarships!. Not only that, ARMY, but we have also provided a full year's preschool scholarship to one sweet little two-year-old named HyungJun!
Not only that, but ARMY rose to the challenge of Cooky's Postmail Mission and sent well over 200 letters and postcards from around the world! That's enough for EVERY child in several KKOOM-supported homes to receive ARMY notes of love this year. Some of the kids sent ARMY a video message back!
August's Dream With Jungkook campaign also saw our FIRST monthly #AnpanARMY Day (check our AnpanARMY page for more info). We also received beautiful pieces of fanart from 21 ARMY artists as gifts to all of you for participating! Check them out in our Twitter moment.
