One In An ARMY is proud to announce the 2020 flash fundraiser in cooperation to support Barefoot College for Namjoon's birthday! The donation period officially began at 10:00 pm KST on September 7th, 2020. Donations will aid Barefoot College in India with their Digital Night Schools, which aim to make education more accessible for rural, remote, and underprivileged children with daytime obligations that prevent them from attending school during regular class hours. Everything listed in steps 3-5 under our individual giving instructions is optional, but extremely helpful for us to track donation amounts as we have no other way to see how much ARMY has donated (see our FAQ for a full explanation). Our hashtag for the month is #BarefootWithNamjoon and the bonus mission hashtag is TBA. The minimum donation amount $1.00 USD.
One In An ARMY is doing the Birthday fundraisers a little different this year.
First of all, they will only last 5 days. That's right, the flash fundraisers are back! That means to campaign starts 5 days before the member's birthday and will end on the day of their birthday, as a nice present for our favorite 7 Koreans.
During the birthday months there will be no regular monthly campaigns, and instead we'll play a long running birthday themed game, a bonus mission if you will. You can find out more about it under Bonus Missions - Journey to ARMYtopia.
How To Donate
Step 1) Visit the One In An ARMY donation page.
Step 2) Donate $1.00 USD or more.
Step 3) Take a screenshot of your donation watermark with your twitter @. Please make sure donation amount is VISIBLE but strike out any personal information (see example screenshot below).
Step 4) Submit this form. The form is especially important now. Due to COVID-19 many non-profits are overwhelmed and might not be able to track donations for us like they normally do.
About Barefoot College
From Barefoot College's website:
For more than 40 years, The Barefoot College has designed new ways to nurture and support a journey to empowerment, one village at a time, one woman at a time. We demystify and decentralise technology and put new tools in the hands of the rural poor with a singular objective of spreading self-sufficiency and sustainability. With a geographic focus on the Least Developed Countries, we train women worldwide as solar engineers, innovators and educators, who then return to their villages to bring light and learning to their community.
